On October 30th, the Canadian Colours Kingston Foundation (CCKF) Youth proudly hosted the Second Annual Remote Food Drive in support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Kingston.

Despite a cold and rainy day, our volunteers showed exceptional dedication, going door-to-door across the Trillium District to collect donations. Their commitment — paired with the incredible generosity of local residents — resulted in an extraordinary 3,500 to 4,500 pounds of non-perishable food gathered for families in need.

This year’s Remote Food Drive stands as a powerful example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together with purpose and compassion.

The event was made even stronger through the collaboration of:

• Dr. Waji Khan and The Khan Foundation

• The Pilipinos Integrated Community Kingston, Ontario (PICKO)

• The generous residents of the Trillium District

• Our dedicated CCKF Youth leaders and volunteers

🇨🇦 Celebrating Unity and Diversity at the Canada Day Parade!

What an incredible day! On July 1st, the Canadian Colours Kingston Foundation proudly participated in the Canada Day Parade to celebrate our beautiful country and its rich diversity.

The parade was filled with energy, joy, and vibrant colours as we marched alongside our Kingston community. It was also wonderful to see the Kingston Police Community Volunteers (KPCV) and Kingston Police playing such an important role in supporting the event. Their efforts in assisting the community and ensuring the parade ran smoothly truly stood out.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, waved flags, and shared smiles along the route. Your enthusiasm made the event even more special! Together, we continue to build bridges and celebrate what it means to be Canadian.

Celebrating Unity: A Night to Remember at the 8th Annual Diversity Dinner

We are thrilled to share the overwhelming success of the 8th Annual Diversity Dinner hosted by the Canadian Colours Kingston Foundation. Held recently in Kingston, Ontario, this memorable event brought together a vibrant tapestry of community members, local organizations, volunteers, and esteemed guests in a warm celebration of cultural diversity, inclusion, and community spirit.

With over 400 attendees, this year’s dinner was a beautiful reflection of Kingston’s rich multicultural identity. The evening was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful connections, highlighting the importance of coming together to learn, appreciate, and celebrate our unique backgrounds and shared humanity.

Guests enjoyed an array of delicious dishes from around the world, carefully prepared and served with love and enthusiasm by our incredible volunteer teams. The diverse cuisine not only delighted our palates but also served as a bridge connecting cultures through the universal language of food.

A highlight of the evening was the inspiring stories shared by speakers representing various communities, reminding us all of the strength found in unity and the richness gained through embracing diversity. Their messages resonated deeply, encouraging continued dialogue and action toward greater inclusion.

Special thanks go to the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area, École secondaire publique Mille-Îles, and Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) for their invaluable support and partnership, making this event possible.

As winter continues to bring cold temperatures, Jimmy Hassan and the Canadian Colours Kingston Foundation (CCKF) have once again stepped up to support Kingston’s unhoused community through the 5th Annual Blanket Drive 2025. This initiative is a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of those facing hardship.

Our Goal: 100 Brand New Blankets

This year, the goal is to purchase and donate 100 brand new blankets to provide warmth and comfort to individuals struggling with homelessness. The community’s support is essential to achieving this goal and ensuring that no one is left out in the cold.

How You Can Help

The Blanket Drive is currently in progress, and donations are welcome! Here’s how you can contribute:
🧥 Donate a new blanket – Every donation directly helps someone in need.
💵 Make a financial contribution – Funds will go toward purchasing blankets for distribution.
